Before you start READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING TO ANY INSTALLATION
Install devices away from points of high moisture levels (e.g., under seats, floors, etc.) or points which are exposed to sunlight or high temperatures.
FTe devices packaging contain the relevant wiring (Wiring harness FTe) that you will need to, in order to proceed with the installation of the FT telematic devices in vehicles.
The FTe devices wiring harness are provided with a fuse attached to the power cord. The fuse protects the power cord in case of short circuit in the cable between the fuse and the FTe. If you replace the fuse, vou should replace it with the same type as the one originally installed by the factory. Using improper fuses or non-mounting of fuses at the recommended location might cause fire in the vehicle. The fuse protects the power cord and the FTe device in case of overload. The cables that are placed between safety fuse and the main power source of the vehicle are not protected from overheating in case of a short circuit. Route the cables in such a way that they are protected and ensure that you are following commonly accepted installation practices for aftermarket automotive electronic devices.
There are two acceptable methods of making a wire connection. You can solder the Constant Power and Ground cables to the vehicles power centre. Or you can crimp connectors with the use of the proper crimping tool.
Never use «t-tap» type connectors (poor quality mechanical type connection).
Never "twist and tape" without soldering your connection.
Never connect cables directlv to the fuse box.
Use a high-quality electrical tape or heat shrinkable insulation. A poor-quality tape will loosen if it is hot and will not provide adequate insulation. Insulate the wires not used during installation.
If the insulation is not appropriate, false alarms and increased consumption on vehicle's battery may occur.
Hardwired FT devices are connected directly to the 12V/24V over the OBD port of the vehicle.
There is no activation - on/off, switch on the devices. Devices operate 24 hours a day.
The GPS/RF Combo antenna must be mounted flat with the GPS Receiver facing up (The writing - POSITION UPWARDS- is facing up). The ideal location is on the roof; however, the antenna can be installed under/top of the dashboard or on the window. If the vehicle window has a solid dark coating around the edge, do not place the GPS antenna behind the coating. The GPS signals will travel through the clear glass but will be reduced if the window has any metallic coating or tint applied.
The GPS/RF Combo antenna will work best if it has a clear view to the skv and as much of the horizon as possible. Any metallic objects between the antenna and the GPS satellites will degrade the signal and reduce the overall performance. Confirm proper operation by connecting the antenna connections to appropriate connectors, use the thread-locking fluid to avoid tampering on antenna connectors and fuse holders for Red (main power) and White/green (ignition power) wires.
**Additional Step if ignition is not recognised by the OBD connection:
You must connect the ignition wire of the device (Ignition) to the appropriate wire on the vehicle's side. Please take into consideration that the engine should be ON to identify the correct one (key turned ON at 2nd stage). If you choose an ignition while engine is OFF or the key is turned at 1st stage then possibly the end-user will face an issue when a report for Idle time and trip duration is requested.**
OBD Harness Characteristics The OBD Splitter Harness is used for effortless and quick installation of the FT advanced GPS tracker. It can be used for installation in passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, vans, pickup trucks, and any other vehicles with OBDII socket. As an OBDII connection cable, in most cases there is no need for the installer to connect power, ignition and ground wires as everything goes through the OBDII socket. If ignition signal is not available in the OBDII socket, then installer needs to use the Ignition add- on harness to connect directly to Ignition source. (available separately through logistics).

IGN-1 is usually installed in Stellantis (formerly PSA) and VAG vehicles. IGN-3 is usually installed in FCA (Fia/Chrysler) vehicles.
8. Connect ignition wire if it is not available in the OBDII If ignition signal is not available in the OBDII socket, then installer needs to use the Ignition add-on harness to connect directly to Ignition source. (available separately through logistics).
NB! The IGN-1 IGN-3 or IGN-8 connector has to be still connected to P8 connector as well.
9. (If required) Locate the central locking wire(s):
- Connect the white/orange wire (DOUT4) from the FTe unit to the open signal from the central locking.
- Connect the white/purple wire (DOUT3) from the Fte unit to the close signal from the central locking Note: Sometimes open and close signals are processed in one wire, connect white/orange and white/purple to the same central locking wire.
10. (If required) Place the RFID reader in the left corner (from driver position) of the front window. Then run the cable to the 6-pin connector of the Fte power cable.
- (If required) Connect the 6 pin connectors.
- (If required) Connect the 2 pin connectors for the immobilizer
- Install the unit under the dash with the Fleet Complete sticker facing up and a direct view of the sky, unobstructed by any metal panels. Also make sure that the windshield does not contain any metal particles since this affects the GPS reception. 14. Run up to 2 tie-wraps over the unit to secure it tightly on the surface. Do not mount the device against air ducts inside the dash.

P10 adapter reconnection for Drexia RFID
This manual will provide instructions on how to switch the power wire from the P10 adapter to the ignition wire.
The P10 adapter has 5 wires:
- Red – power
- Black – Ground
- Orange or White - Dout2
- Pink - DIN3
- Green-yellow - 1-wire
We are interested in the red wire (1-Pin, Red-Power)
In order to switch the power wire to the ignition wire, you should trace where the red wire goes and bite it near the black 14-pin adapter. (P3)
Need to cut the constant power supply and reconnect it to ignition power.
We see the best way for it near the 14-pin P3 connector on the FTe device side:
On pin1 there is a soldering point with 3 red wires coming out of it. Need to locate the one going to P10 RFID reader, cut it and isolate from the FTe device side.
On pin5 there is ignition signal wire with soldering point and 2 yellow wires coming out of it.
Need to cut the isolation of one of those wires (no matter which one exactly) connect and solder it to the RFID reader red wire (1-PIN; P10 connector)
How to connect Drexia RFID to P10 connector?
| Drexia | FTe RFID connector P10 |
|---|---|
| WHITE, 1 Wire data | GREEN / YELLOW, 1 Wire data |
| GREEN, Led | ORANGE, (DOUT2) |
| RED, Ignition | RED, (+) |
| BLACK, ground | BLACK, (Ground) |
Cut P10 connector wires and connect 4 wires to RFID Drexia
- White wire from RFID connect to Green/Yelow wire from P10 connector (4 PIN)
- Green wire from RFID connect to Orange or White white from P10 connector (2 PIN)
- RED wire from RFID connect to RED wire from P10 connector (1 PIN)
- BLACK wire from RFID connect to BLACK wire from P10 connector (6 PIN)
Temperature sensor (optional)
| Function | Temperature sensor color | FTe harness cable color |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Wire data | Green/Yellow | P3 port 3 Green/Yellow |
| Power (5V) | Blue | P3 port 10 Red/Yellow |
| Ground | Brown | P4port 8 Black |
- remove a few millimeteres from the wire isolation in order to solder them.
- Avoid cold solder joint.
3. Use apropriate tools and don't forget to isolate the soldered points, for ex. use heat shrink sleeves.
