Before you start
READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING TO ANY INSTALLATION
Install devices away from points of high moisture levels (e.g., under seats, floors, etc.) or points which are exposed to sunlight or high temperatures.
FTe devices packaging contain the relevant wiring (Wiring harness FTe) that you will need to, in order to proceed with the installation of the FTe telematic devices in vehicles.
The FTe devices wiring harness are provided with a fuse attached to the power cord. The fuse protects the power cord in case of short circuit in the cable between the fuse and the FTe. If you replace the fuse, you should replace it with the same type as the one originally installed by the factory. Using improper fuses or non-mounting of fuses at the recommended location might cause fire in the vehicle. The fuse protects the power cord and the FTe device in case of overload. The cables that are placed between the safety fuse and the main power source of the vehicle are not protected from overheating in case of a short circuit. Route the cables in such a way that they are protected and ensure that you are following commonly accepted installation practices for aftermarket automotive electronic devices.
There are two acceptable methods of making a wire connection. You can solder the Constant Power and Ground cables to the vehicles power source. Or you can crimp connectors with the use of the proper crimping tool.
Never use «t-tap» type connectors (poor quality mechanical type connection). Never “twist and tape” without soldering your connection. Never connect cables directly to the fuse box.
Use high-quality electrical tape or heat shrinkable insulation. A poor-quality tape will loosen if it is hot and will not provide adequate insulation. Insulate the wires not used during installation. If the insulation is not appropriate, false alarms and increased consumption of the vehicle’s battery may occur.
Hardwired FTe devices are connected directly to the 12V/24V over the OBD port of the vehicle. There is no activation – on/off, switch on the devices. Devices operate 24 hours a day.
The GPS/RF Combo antenna must be mounted flat with the GPS Receiver facing up (The writing - POSITION UPWARDS- is facing up). The ideal location is on the roof; however, the antenna can be installed under/top of the dashboard or on the window. If the vehicle window has a solid dark coating around the edge, do not place the GPS antenna behind the coating. The GPS signals will travel through the clear glass but will be reduced if the window has any metallic coating or tint applied.
The GPS/RF Combo antenna will work best if it has a clear view to the sky and as much of the horizon as possible. Any metallic objects between the antenna and the GPS satellites will degrade the signal and reduce the overall performance.
Confirm proper operation by connecting the antenna connections to appropriate connectors, use the thread-locking fluid to avoid tampering on antenna connectors and fuse holders for Red (main power) and White/green (ignition power) wires.
Hardware harness interface The Hardwire Harness is used on light commercial vehicles or machineries if OBD port does not exist, or CAN data are only available with hardwire connection. Labels have been put on every connector or loose wire for easy recognition.

Installation instructions The FTe Hardwire harness could be connected directly to the vehicles Battery, which supplies the 12/24v power input to the device. The power supply voltage can be found also in OBDII port (Pin16 is power & Pin4 is ground) or fuse boxes inside the cabin. There is a label on each connector or single wire for better visibility.
Install the unit under the dash with the Fleet Complete sticker facing up and a direct view of the sky, unobstructed by any metal panels. Also make sure that the windshield does not contain any metal particles since this affects the GPS reception.
Run up to 2 tie-wraps over the unit to secure it tightly on the surface. Do not mount the device against air ducts inside the dash.
All wire terminals must be soldered and properly isolated with good quality electrical tape or glue-lined heat shrink or crimped using a professional ratchet crimp tool using insulated connectors.
Follow the link below to find guidelines per vehicle type. https://vehicles.ruptela.com/?list=obd
Power Supply & Ignition pinout interface
- A Red wire with PWR label from pin1 of 14-way connector should be connected to power with a 3A fuse.
- A Black wire with GND label from pin8 of 14-way connector should be connected to ground.
- A Green wire with IGN label from pin5 of 14-way connector should be connected to ignition signal with 1A fuse.
You must connect the ignition wire of the device (Ignition) to the appropriate wire on the vehicle’s side. Please take into consideration that the engine should be ON to identify the correct one (key turned ON at 2nd stage). If you choose an ignition while engine is OFF or the key is turned at 1st stage then possibly the end-user will face an issue with engine status in reports.
RFID interface (optional)
If required place the RFID reader in the left corner (from driver position) of the front window. Then run the cable to the 6-pin RFID connector of the Hardwire harness.
P10 adapter reconnection for Drexia RFID
This manual will provide instructions on how to switch the power wire from the P10 adapter to the ignition wire.
The P10 adapter has 5 wires:
- Red – power
- Black – Ground
- Orange or White - Dout2
- Pink - DIN3
- Green-yellow - 1-wire
We are interested in the red wire (1-Pin, Red-Power)
In order to switch the power wire to the ignition wire, you should trace where the red wire goes and bite it near the black 14-pin adapter. (P3)
Need to cut the constant power supply and reconnect it to ignition power.
We see the best way for it near the 14-pin P3 connector on the FTe device side:
On pin1 there is a soldering point with 3 red wires coming out of it. Need to locate the one going to P10 RFID reader, cut it and isolate from the FTe device side.
On pin5 there is ignition signal wire with soldering point and 2 yellow wires coming out of it.
Need to cut the isolation of one of those wires (no matter which one exactly) connect and solder it to the RFID reader red wire (1-PIN; P10 connector)
How to connect Drexia RFID to P10 connector?
| Drexia | FTe RFID connector P10 |
|---|---|
| WHITE, 1 Wire data | GREEN / YELLOW, 1 Wire data |
| GREEN, Led | ORANGE, (DOUT2) |
| RED, Ignition | RED, (+) |
| BLACK, ground | BLACK, (Ground) |
Cut P10 connector wires and connect 4 wires to RFID Drexia
- White wire from RFID connect to Green/Yellow wire from P10 connector (4 PIN)
- Green wire from RFID connect to Orange or White white from P10 connector (2 PIN)
- RED wire from RFID connect to RED wire from P10 connector (1 PIN)
- BLACK wire from RFID connect to BLACK wire from P10 connector (6 PIN)
Immobilizer interface (optional)
If required locate the cable that gives signal to the vehicle's starter motor. Cut the cable (we cut only starter cables and not cables that could turn OFF the engine while is moving like fuel pump) and ensure that the vehicle cannot start when the cable is cut.
Connect the blue wire from relay at the end of the cut cable that has power when you turn the vehicle’s key ON. Connect the black wire to the other end of the cut cable.
Plug the 2-pin relay’s connector to 2-pin immobilizer connector on the Hardwire harness.
After installation, verify the following:
- The immobilizer function (not start without sing-in).
- Confirm that the engine can be started after the connection.
NOTE:The function of the immobilizer relay is NC. Please confirm before INSTALLATION the required relay depending on the type of vehicle (12V or 24V).
In some cases, like keyless and EV vehicle types where immobilizer cannot be implemented with a relay you will need the CANimmobilizer module. Drive CANimmobilizer by connecting FTe DOUT2 to pin2 of CANimmobilizer connector. Contact HW team to share the specific vehicle connection schematic.
Temperature sensor (optional)
If required connect our 1-wire temperature sensor on the Hardwire harness. Use appropriate tools and don't forget to isolate the soldered points, for ex. use heat shrink sleeves.
| Function | Temperature sensor color | FTe Hardwire harness pinout |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Wire data | Green / Yellow | White / pin3 of 14-way connector |
| Power (5V) | Blue | Blue-Red / pin10 of 14-way connector |
| Ground | Brown | Black / pin8 of 14-way connector |
Central Locking DOUT3/DOUT4 interface (optional)
If required use DOUT3 and DOUT4 of the harness to Lock/Unlock vehicle’s doors.
- DOUT3 -> White/Purple -> Lock
- DOUT4 -> White/Orange -> Unlock
Options for interconnection with central locking button
- Single wire direct ground (Renault/Peugeot)
One wire trigger locks / unlocks, each time a ground signal of 500msec is activated.
- Double wire direct ground
Each wire locks / unlocks the central locking when a ground signal is applied.
- Single wire double signal (VAG / FIAT)
One wire triggers Lock / Unlock depending on what signal is applied to it. f.i.: Direct ground triggers Unlock 220Ωhm to ground triggers Lock
At any option if positive signals required, use a standard automotive relay to invert the polarity. In some cases, like Keyless and EV vehicle types, central locking cannot be implemented manually, and you will need to use the CANSafe module. In this case drive CANSafe module by connecting DOUT3 / DOUT4 digital outputs. Contact HW team to share the specific vehicle connection schematic.
CAN pinout interface (optional)
Fte Hardwire Harness has 2 CAN interfaces, CAN1 & CAN2. Both interfaces end to 4-pin connectors in order to plug one or two EasyCAN adapters. We use contactless readers to not harm or cause any error by connecting manually on the vehicle’s CAN wires.
Vehicle specific connection schemes are provided in this link. Need to use always CAN1 as a first choice if only one connection required.

As an example, on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (2019+, 3 gen, 907/910) need to be connected 2 CAN lines.
Installer portal
When installation is complete, installation verification must take place in the installer portal. 1. Login using your personal PIN code:
2. Enter device IMEI (can be found on device box and on the device itself)
3. Validate incoming data from the device:
- Data should be refreshing live
