FCPlus Vehicles module
The Vehicles module provides users with a view of the latest GPS and sensor-based information of their vehicles. It is the basic module which most organizations use today with Fleet Complete. When logging in to FC Plus, the Vehicles screen is displayed by default if the vehicles module is enabled for an organization.
The primary purpose of the Vehicles module is to provide:
- The list of the vehicles to navigate.
- The history of vehicle movements (track) on the Map Area.
Vehicles module the main view
The Vehicles module screen consists of two sections:
- The "Vehicles List" on the left-hand side, and
- The "Map Area" on the right-hand side
The vehicle list displays the list of all the vehicles in an organization with defined colours. The Map Area displays the exact geographical location of the vehicle on the map with the colours.
Add column to Vehicle list
You can add many columns to the vehicles list to view the real-time data of the vehicles.
Please follow the steps below to add columns to the vehicle list:
- Select any existing Column from the list.
- Click on the Column name and click the rightmost downwards arrow.
- A list will be displayed.
- Click Columns from the list.
- A new list will be displayed with column options.
- Add a tick in front of the column you want to add. 7. Alternatively, remove the tick in front of the column you don't want to view in the vehicle list.
Note: It is not required to Save any settings after ticking the columns from the list.
The vehicles list in Vehicle module
The "Vehicle List" of the vehicles module consists of three main views:
- Search and Filter fields,
- Vehicle List, and
- Tracking Options
Search and filter, and Vehicle List features are explained below in detail.
Search and filter fields
At the top of the Vehicle List section on the left-hand side are two Search fields.
Vehicles can be searched by:
- Vehicle description and
- Vehicle groups
The Vehicle list
The vehicle List displays all the active, suspended and terminated vehicles in an organization.
The list is colour coded. The colours can also be viewed in the Map Area.
Please review the vehicles module's colours below:
- Blue: vehicle moving and ignition on.
- Grey:vehicle standing and ignition is off.
Below the search fields, the following columns can be displayed for each vehicle:
- Show or Hide Checkbox: Vehicles may be removed or re-added to the map by unchecking or re-checking the checkbox in front of the vehicle name.
- Square box: It displays the checkboxes on the vehicle list. You can untick to remove the checkboxes in front of the vehicle's name in the Vehicle List.
- Vehicle: Displays the name of the vehicle and the last reported location of the vehicle.
- If the registered site is within a set area, the area's name will also be displayed.
- Otherwise, the address information is displayed.
- Power: Displays the battery power of the vehicle. It will be displayed in voltage
- For example, If the engine is ON, the voltage will be higher than 12.08 V for the light-weight vehicles.
- Plate: Displays the number plate information on the vehicle.
- Driver: Displays the name of the driver assigned to the vehicle.
- Default/Static Drivers can be assigned to the vehicles from the vehicle tab of the Settings module.
- If many drivers share the vehicles, they can be identified based on RFID or "ibutton" swiping/Booking, and their names will be displayed in the vehicle list.
- Employee ID: Displays the employee id of the driver assigned to the vehicle.
- Employee ID is assigned to the drivers from the People Tab of the settings module
- Phone: It is the phone number of the driver.
- Skills: Displays the skills of the driver assigned to the vehicle.
- Groups: Displays the vehicle group.
- You can set Vehicle Groups from the Vehicle group tab of the Settings module.
- Speed: Displays the current speed of the vehicle.
- Fuel: Displays how much fuel the vehicle has left.
- Availability: Displays whether the vehicle is currently available.
- Time: Displays how old the current data is. You can refresh to view the latest data in the time column.
- Hardware: It displays the name of the hardware type installed in the vehicle.
- Driver Status: It displays the status of the driver.
- Vehicle VIN: Displays the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification number).
If you right-click on the Vehicle name in the vehicle List, the collapsed list will be displayed.
Vehicle module The Map Area
The Map Area is a central feature of the FC Plus platform and is used in several modules. It displays the locations and spatial relations of vehicles, areas, and geographical elements.
You can perform many operations on the Map area to view any location or vehicle on the map.
- Panning the Map:There are several ways to pan (move around the map).
- You can pan the map using the mouse or the keyboard keys that move the pointer (cursor) on the screen.
- They include the up, down, left, right arrow and Page Up/Down keys.
Note: The Page Up and Page Down keys will move the map in much greater increments than the up and down keys.
- Zooming in and out the Map: There are several ways to zoom the map.
- You can zoom in and out using the mouse or the "+" or "- "buttons on the map area.
- Peg man to access Google Street View: This button allows you to access the google street view.
- Back to the previous view: This button allows you to go back to the last position in the history on the map area.
- The back to the initial view: This button allows you to return to the point of view when the application was launched.
- Distance Calculator: This button opens the distance calculator and route planner feature. This allows you to measure the distances between marked spots using roads or straight lines. You can click the Optimize button to reorder the waypoints to the shortest, most efficient order.
- Please follow the steps below to optimize a route using a Route Planner option:

Click on the Distance calculator button.

A pop-up Route Planner window will appear.
- You can choose to pick the location on the map using the roads or using the straight lines.
4. Mark points on the map. For example, A to F as per your preferences.
- Click the optimize button on the bottom of the Route Planner window
Note: There may be up to 25 waypoints marked A alphabetically to Y.
- Find Nearest Vehicle: The find nearest vehicle feature can be launched from the button left to the address search field on the map.
- You can edit or fill the destination with the Search Address field or the Pick Location tool. Once the location has been filled out, a list of vehicles displays, ordered by distance by default.
- Search from Map: To search, type the location's name (customer, company etc.) or part of it in the search field. If there are several matches, locations of all matches will be marked with pins on the map area.
- Right-Click Options: You can right-click anywhere on the map area to open a pop-up window.
- This will display the address of the selected location if it has one. In addition, show the coordinates of the chosen place in the WGS84 format.
- Find the nearest vehicle:This button starts the Find Nearest Vehicle function as described above. The destination will be pre-filled with the selected location.
- Send message:This button opens the Messages tab with the location info pre-filled.
- Create area: This button opens the Areas, offering a circle-shaped area with the centre of the selected location.
- Who was there:This button displays several markers for points in the vicinity of the location. Click on each marker to view its site.
Understanding GPS route

Vehicles module tracking options
The Vehicles list in the Vehicles module has tracking potential. Tracking options allow you to view vehicles on the list and the map according to the chosen preferences.
Tracking options Vehicle list
To access the tracking options from the vehicle list. Please scroll down in the vehicle list. Below the vehicles list, several vehicles related positioning and displaying options display, including:
- Fit to screen
- Location
- Collapsed List button
Fit to screen: The fit to screen button resizes the map to display all vehicles "shown" (checked in the Vehicles list) on the map area. Location: The location button zooms in on the selected vehicle from the vehicles list on the map area. Collapse List Button: The vehicle list displays the collapsed list button to the right of the locationbutton.
The collapsed List button opens a dropdown menu with the following options:
- Open trips: Opens the Trips module for the selected period.
- Open Journal: Opens the Journal module for the selected period.
- Displays only active vehicles: Displays vehicles with Ignition turned on. This is not the vehicle status "active".
- Hide suspended/terminated vehicles: Hides all the suspended or terminated vehicles from the map area. This is for the list also.
- Display only filtered vehicles on the map: Displays only the filtered vehicles on the map area. You can use the filter options from the Vehicle list. If this option is not ticked, all the vehicles will be viewed on the map.
- Display vehicle names on the map: Displays the vehicle name on the map area.
- Display driver names on the map: If defined, displays the driver's name on the map area.
- Displays driver status on map: When this vehicle has a default driver, and the user has permission (Has on-duty/off-duty status info), then in mobile application, the user can turn on this status. The green circle in front of the driver name suggests the driver status is on; grey means off.
- Display employee ID on the map: If defined, displays the employee id on the map area.
- Create and send a link: You can use this option to send a temporary tracking link to a non-user.
- Update Odometer: You can use this option to update the value of the odometer reading.
Request Location: Allows users to request an on-demand position for the selected vehicle.
This will be shown in the UI. This is like manually sending out a request to the system to send the vehicle's last data to the UI.
- Get Google Maps Link: Creates a google map link of the position of the vehicle.
- Send message: This is only available when the vehicle has "Garmin" enabled. Then you can use this functionality.
- Edit Vehicle: Opens the Vehicles sub-tab in the Configuration tab of the settings module.
Track features the vehicle list
At the bottom of the Vehicles List, you can see the tracking features like:
- Info
- Map
- Info: This displays today's usage of the selected vehicle from the list. There is also a possibility of configuring more in the info tab by clicking the configure button on the right-hand side.
- Map: Displays the current location of the selected vehicle from the list. You can drag and drop pegman to view the site of the vehicle on the map. When the vehicle moves, the street view will also change with it.
Track features
At the very bottom of the Vehicle List, you can see the tracking features like:
- Open Track
- Track Filtering
- Summary
This feature allows users to view the trail of the selected vehicle throughout a specific period. This can be played back on the map and as an animation. Each track has the following options:
- Track re-play:The track can be re-played by clicking on the Play button in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- You can change the playback speed, adjust the map view by clicking on the Fit to screen option, view the entire track, find the location of a track point, and display detailed information about each track point.
- You can also save the track point location as an image on your computer by clicking the Save as Image button.
- You can determine the travelling speed of the vehicle, the remaining amount of fuel in the tank, the distance from the beginning of the track and the location (including the address) of the selected track point by scrolling up and down on the screen.
- Track filtering:Track points can be filtered by clicking on the Track points button on the bottom right-hand side corner. This is useful when you want to find the locations where the vehicle exceeded the speed limit.
- Click the Track points button and type a filter field with a simple mathematical operation – I. e. Speed > 90. Only the entries with a speed over 90 km/h remain in the table. When you select an entry, the specified location will show on the map.
- Summary: As the name suggests, it is summary, more specifically summary of track you asked for.
Hide bookable vehicles from theMap
If you need to hide bookable vehicles from the map's vehicle selection view and the mobile map, two conditions must be met:
- The vehicle must be marked as bookable under Settings -> Vehicles -> Booking tab.
- Your account must have the "Hide bookable vehicles" permission enabled. To enable this permission, please contact your sales or account manager.
