SEO CANsafe converter - installer manual
SEO CANsafe converter in combination with any car security system, for example SEO PERFECT or GPS/GSM module is an excellent car protection. Installation is carried out in accordance with the provided connection diagrams. Program numbers dedicated to specific vehicles are shown on their respective connection diagrams.
SEO CANsafe is a reading/sending converter that waits for digital signal from CAN BUS to translate it into analog signals that are sent to the appropriate outputs or inputs of the 11-PIN connector. Analog signals are converted to appropriate commands that are sent to the vehicle's CAN BUS. It is possible to connect 3 CAN BUSes to the device.
The step-by-step installation procedure
- register on www.can24.pro website to download needed connection diagrams and use the technical support, connect the GROUND cable,
- then connect + 12V,
- set a 5-digit Program number dedicated to a specific car, using the PCB button and LED (see: setting the Program number); the Program number can also be set using the 0350 programmer device.
- connect CAN L,
- connect CAN H.
As part of purchased software Level, the CPU contains Programs for all declared cars of a particular group. On a particular connection diagrams, Program numbers dedicated to specific cars and machines are indicated.
SEO CANsafe communicates with the CAN BUS only when it is properly connected and the transmission has been established, i.e. the LED is blinking. By default, the device is programmed to a neutral Program number 11120. Always connect all wires indicated on the connection diagram

Changing the Program number (using button located on the device PCB): Press and hold the button until the LED starts to blink, then release the button; the LED will start counting (from 1 to 9) to indicate the first of five digits of the Program number; after the right number of blinks, hold down the button until the LED starts to blink again, then release the button.
Program the next digits of the Program number in the same way. The LED will blink 10 times after completing programming successfully. Then the main unit will restart, which will be signaled by a double blink of the LED.
Checking the program number: Press the button briefly. Initially the LED of the main unit will blink out 5-digit of the pre-set Program number and then the connection status of the 6 connected CAN BUSes (even if the device is connected only to 2 CAN BUSes.
Number of blinks indicates the status of 6 CAN BUSes: 1 blink - CAN has already been connected but now it is not receiving any data (i.e. the CAN BUS is in sleep mode); 2 blinks -CAN is connected and is receiving data at the moment; 3 blinks - CAN disconnected, but requires connection; 4 blinks - CAN not supported, no connection required.
Updating the software with the 0350 programmer device
Connect the SEO CANsafe device through 0350 programmer device to the computer to update the database of supported vehicles. For this purpose along with the programmer device we also provide the PC software necessary for the upgrade and/or update. The programmer device can update only the database of supported vehicles. The programmer device is not designed to modify the device firmware.

8-PIN CONNECTOR
PIN 1-6 - Connection of CAN BUSes CANI, CAN2, CAN3 - according to the connection diagram respective for specific vehicle.
PIN 7 - In case when the module does not control the emergency lights via CAN BUS, the Emergency lights alternative control output needs to be connected according to the connection diagram for specific vehicle (the high or low state appears on the output depending on the signals appearing in the vehicle)
PIN 8 - In case when the module does not control the emergency lights via CAN BUS, the Alternative central lock control output needs to be connected according to the connection diagram for specific vehicle (the high or low state appears on the output depending on the signals appearing in the vehicle)
11-PIN CONNECTOR
PIN 1 - reserved for doors handling. SEO CANsafe converter reads door opening status form CAN BUSes. Ground appears on output when any doors or engine cover is opened. If the ground will not appear on PIN 1 when opening/closing doors, you need to connect directly to the car's door sensor, because door opening status is not available on CAN BUS. Information about doors is available on the connection diagrams for specific vehicle.
PIN 2 - low logic state will appear on this output when the module is in alarming status. If the car has originally installed car security system, low state will appear when the car is in alarming mode (alarm due to door opening, unauthorized ignition switching or alarm induced by originally mounted ultrasonic sensor).
If the car is not originally equipped with car security system, low logic state will appear when the security system is armed and any door will be opened or when the ignition will be switched OFF.
PIN 3 - low logic state impulse will appear on this output:
1 impulse for closing the car,
- 2 impulses for opening the car,
- 3 impulses for opening the trunk.
PIN 4 - high logic state will appear on this output when switching the ignition ON. Signal does not dissapear when starting the engine
PIN 5 & 6 - used for software update through SEO 0350 programmer device
PIN 7 - used for car's central lock steering. After applying ground to this input, SEO CANsafe converter sends command opening central lock (all doors) to the CAN BUS.
Detailed functionality of Alternative central lock control in terms of opening the car with originally installed car security system, opening the central lock when ignition ON and alternative central lock opening, are indicated on the connection diagrams dedicated for particular vehicle.
PIN 8 - executes two functions:
- closing the central lock - executed by a low logic state short impulse,
- closing windows - executed by a low logic state long impulse.
SEO CANsafe converter executes central lock closing first and then it will execute closing windows.
Detailed functionality of PIN 8 input in terms of closing the car with originally installed car security system, closing the central lock when ignition ON, alternative central lock closing and window closing is described on the connection diagrams for particular vehicle.
SEO CANsafe converter reads signals (closing/opening the car) using original car's remote controls or, if the car is equipped with additional remote controls, it uses signals (closing/opening) on PIN 7 & 8 of 11-PIN connector.
PIN 9 - used for emergency lights steering by sending a square-wave signal. Detailed functionality is described on connection diagrams for particular vehicle. Emergency lights steering happens by sending appropriate commands to the CAN BUS or using PIN 7 input of 8-PIN connector Emergency lights alternative control.
Arming/disarming of remoteless SEO car alarm system using any central locking controller (the SEO car alarm system should not be equipped with the remotes - use only vehicle's original remotes or auxiliary remotes).
For this function to work, after setting the program number, in SEO CANsafe, for the selected vehicle, enter the program number 23992. The functionality is available from 2022-05-17.
After supplying GND to the 7/11 or 8/11 (i.e. opening or closing the central lock), the SEO CANsafe device will send a signal to the SEO alarm system indicating that the car is locked or unlocked using the vehicle's original remote, which will result in arming or disarming the SEO alarm system, the same as when closing or opening the car using the vehicle's original remote.
SEO CANsafe general scheme
