FCPlus app - GPS tracking
You can use phone to track your location. This can be useful if you don't have a device installed in your vehicle, but you want to receive an information about your business and private trips in Journal or Autolog.
To activate the GPS tracking follow the steps below:
- On the main page of the FCPlus app, tap on the GPS Tracking.
- In the new window, tap the Start tracking button.
Once tracking is activated, you will see the status "On" next to GPS tracking in the main menu. To turn off GPS tracking click on the Stop tracking button and status will be changed to "Off".
No permission to access location - error
You may see an error "No permission to access location" when trying to activate GPS location within mobile app. To make the location available, you need to allow location access in your phone's settings.
To allow an app to access your location on iOS, follow these steps:
- Open Settings: Go to your iPhone's home screen and tap on the Settings app.
- Scroll to the app: Scroll down and find the app (e.g., "FCPlus" or the specific app you want to allow access to). Tap on the app's name.
- Tap "Location": In the app settings, look for the Location option and tap it.
- Select a permission option:
- Never: The app will not have access to your location.
- Ask Next Time or When I Share: The app will ask for permission the next time it needs location access.
- While Using the App: The app will only access your location while it's open.
- Always: The app can access your location even when it’s running in the background. 5. Enable Precise Location (optional): If you want the app to get your exact location, ensure that Precise Locationis toggled on.
To allow an app access to your location on Android, follow these steps:
- Open Settings: Go to your device's home screen and tap on the Settings app (it looks like a gear icon).
- Go to Apps: Scroll down and select Apps or Apps & Notifications (the name may vary depending on your device).
- Find the App: Scroll through the list and tap on the app you want to allow location access for (e.g., FCPlus).
- Tap on Permissions: In the app settings, select Permissions.
- Allow Location Access: Find Location in the list of permissions and tap on it. You’ll be presented with a few options:
- Allow only while using the app: Grants location access only when the app is open and actively being used.
- Allow all the time: Grants location access even when the app is running in the background.
- Deny: Denies location access completely. 6. Make sure Location Services are On: You may also want to ensure that your phone’s general location services are enabled. You can do this by going back to Settings, selecting Location, and making sure it's toggled on.
